NATURAL PRODUCTS NORTHWEST 2012 - TRADESHOW
This annual event is recognized as the premiere natural product show in the region. The 2012 show will be held October 4 - 6 in Seattle, WA. All retailer members receive complimentary badges to attend . Meet hundreds of key industry suppliers, network with industry professionals, establish and re-kindle relationships, attend seminars and see new products.

Offered in conjunction with the Tradeshow is a comprehensive schedule of seminars, featured speakers with meals, panel discussions, professional enrichment sessions, as well as the Annual Member Meeting and Industry Reception. All of these opportunities to stay fresh, knowledgeable and engaged are offered free to NPA NW Retail Members.
LEGISLATIVE UPDATES AND CALLS FOR GRASSROOTS ACTION
Powerful grassroots pressure is required to affect positive change. To alter “business as usual” in our states and nation’s capitals, timing is critical. Recently NV AB 289 (the practice of dietetics) was introduced and we engaged our new NV advocates. The legislation was amended successfully to make certain retailers selling dietary supplements and natural foods can do so legally.
SUPPORTS THE ANNUAL NATURAL PRODUCTS DAY IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
Since 2005 the NPA NW has helped underwrite sending region delegates to Washington, D.C., for the annual Natural Products Day. In 2011 eleven NW members met their elected officials to ask for their support to protect the industry and preserve access to natural products.
SUPPORTS STATE ADVOCACY WITH ORGANIZED EVENTS
Grassroots events were held in Salem OR, Olympia WA and Juneau AK to positively influence legislation. Issues include banning rBGH, BPA (bisphenol A) and junk food in schools, regulating GE products, defining anabolic steroids, including wellness in insurance reform, and supporting naturopathic physicians.
